Roger Burks is a former Senior Writer for Mercy Corps. Since 2004, he traveled to more than 20 countries — including Iraq, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, China, Uganda, Mongolia and Kosovo — to explore and document Mercy Corps' work. He also took part in Mercy Corps' emergency responses to Hurricane Katrina and the Haiti earthquake. Burks served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the small West African nation of Togo.
