Jean Payton is an intern for Global Envision and current student at Portland State University. She is pursuing a degree in Community Development, concentrating on Housing and Economic Development. She has additional focuses in Black Studies and African Politics. In addition to writing for Global Envision, Jean also works part-time for the City of Gresham as a housing policy assistant. She lives to travel, play music, and drink coffee. Jean has traveled throughout the U.S., Mexico, Spain, and recently studied abroad in Uganda. Graduation nigh, she looks forward to once again having free time.
