Brandon Gast has been an intern with Global Envision since September of 2007. He is finishing his B.A. in International Studies with a focus on African Studies at Portland State University. He has traveled to Kenya and Cameroon and will be studying in Dakar, Senegal next year. He is passionate about fly fishing, cycling and photography.

The Ministry of Fisheries has denied allegations by a group, called the Joint Action Against Pair Trawling (JAAPT) that foreign vessels have invaded Ghana's fishing industry and all vessels plying the coastal areas of the country are engaged in pair trawling activities. It says the allegations are simply untrue.
