Erasmus Mundus Scholarship, European Master Programme: "Global Studies"
This program seeks to draw students from the European Union and third world countries for a program examining the various modes of analyzing globalization. The program consists of two years of study -- scholarships are available.
The Monte Verde Institute, International Study Programs
This five week program offers an opportunity to participate in a community health program in the northwest region of Costa Rica. In addition to applying lessons of anthropology and health disciplines in a real world situations, participants get exposure to the Tilan Mountain range, an endangered tropical forest.
Rotary International, International Education Scholarships
Rotary offers a number of scholarships designed to support students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. It should be noted that these programs are meant to introduce students to new cultures not continue their stay in a country they have been studying in for more than 6 months. Rotary hopes to encourage understanding and dialogue as well as provide opportunities for students to attend local universities, engage in intensive language training and cultural immersion.
Semester at Sea, Study Abroad
Equipped as a floating university, Semester at Sea offers global tours while educating students onboard. Students are expected to take 12 credits during the 100 day semester, and attend classes on the ship. During this time the ship travels around the world encouraging students to participate in a number of field programs in the countries where the ship docks.
SIT Study Abroad, Economic Development and Globalization Program, Chile
This study abroad program for undergraduate students examines the effects of globalization on Chilean economy, government, and cultural practices.
