Haley is a former Global Envision intern who studied international affairs at Lewis and Clark College. Besides debating politics, Haley enjoys whitewater kayaking, backpacking, and hiking in her free time.
A graduate of University of Oregon in International Studies and French and a former Global Envision intern, Haley has spent two years living (and eating) in France. She spent a summer in Middlebury, VT learning Arabic, العربية, and plans on living in Damascus, Syria in the future.
Ian Goldsmith is an intern for Global Envision. He is majoring in Geography with a minor in Economics at Portland State University. Ian has traveled to 46 of the contiguous states, The Netherlands, Belgium and Costa Rica. He is passionate about cooking, New York Times crossword puzzles and his beloved Kansas City Royals.
Jean Payton is a freelance writer for Global Envision and former intern. She holds a degree in Community Development with a concentration in Housing and Economic Development from Portland State University's School of Urban Studies and Planning. Additional focus and research areas include African Studies, Middle Eastern History, and International Development. She has traveled extensively and recently participated in an International Sustainable Development Seminar in Uganda.
Jess Reichard is an International Politcal Economy and Religion major at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA. She spent the fall of her Junior year studying Muslim communities in Western Europe, where she traveled to France, Switzerland, Germany, England, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Turkey. Jessica Perkins is a native Oregonian who often finds herself immersed in a good political book as well as enjoying Oregon’s natural beauty. She appreciates the social sciences so much she once participated in an Oregon State University class whose setting took place inside the state prison. Jill is pursuing an undergraduate degree in International Development Studies at Portland State University. She is focusing on public health in South Asian countries and is especially interested in India. She spent last summer in New Delhi, researching the barriers to community participation in maternal and child health projects in urban slums. Jill plans on pursuing a career in international development and traveling as much as possible.
Julie Pachico graduated from Reed College in 2008 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. She was born in Cambridge, England; grew up in Cali, Colombia; and has lived in Mexico and Ecuador. She currently lives in Portland, OR.

Kallie is a Global Envision Intern. Born and raised in Alaska, Kallie traveled south to Lewis and Clark College where she is studying International Affairs with a focus in Latin America. Kara is pursuing her masters in International Studies at Indiana University an undergraduate degree in Political Science. Katie is a Lewis & Clark College alum with a B.A. in Communications and Art who participated in a study abroad program in Rajasthan, India. Liv just recently graduated from Linfield College with a BA in Intercultural Communication and is now a intern for Global Envision. During her time in college she studied abroad for a semester in both Florence, Italy and Galway, Ireland. Besides traveling, she loves to dance.

Lucy Wang is a summer intern for Global Envision. She currently attends Georgetown University and majors in international relations. She hopes to travel in Southeast Asia this fall. Lyndsey is a Global Envision Intern and a junior International Affairs major at Lewis & Clark College. She was a member of the Steering Committee for the Lewis & Clark International Affairs Symposium on Global Disorder and is excited to be doing work relevant to both her major and English minor. Manasi Sharma is a recent graduate of the MPH program in Global Health at New York Medical College. She is currently an intern at Mercy Corps for Global Envision. Her future career hopes are to work in International Health and Human Rights Development, especially in women’s rights. Other than humanitarian issues and causes, Manasi enjoys travelling, working with children, cooking, and reading.
Margo Conner is currently a senior at Lewis & Clark College, where she is an International Affairs major. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, she's come to love the Pacific Northwest. In addition to writing for Global Envision, Margo enjoys biking, hiking, photography, and bread baking. She's studied abroad in the Philippines and Chile and hopes to return to both, in addition to exploring the rest of the world.
Maria Hasan is a graduate student at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy where she is studying International Security Studies and Public International Law. She is currently interested in issues of counter terrorism, entrepreneurship, development and international law.

Max is currently a first year graduate student at the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, where he specializes in development economics and human security. Prior to Fletcher, Max lived and worked for nearly 3 years in Cairo, Egypt, conducting research on food security and agricultural development, teaching high school history classes and covering the 2011 uprising.
Maya recently graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a degree in International Affairs. She fell in love with East Africa last summer when she was working in Rwanda, Uganda, and the DRC. She is passionate about poverty alleviation and health equity and wants to pursue a career in global health. She is obsessed with books written by Toni Morrison and loves being outside, hiking or riding her bicycle.
Meg Kowalik has been an intern with Global Envision since January 2008. She is currently a student at Lewis & Clark College, majoring in International Affairs. Megan Kelly is a former Global Envision intern and current guest blogger who recently graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Journalism. She has studied Arabic for three years, spent a term studying in Tunisia, and hopes to travel to the Middle East in the near future. Michael Andersen is a writing coach for Global Envision. He lives in Portland, where he's written for The Oregonian and other outlets and publishes a newsmagazine and website about low-car life. He's impersonated a panhandler, a metal thief and a dirty bomber and he's a pretty big fan of bread.
