That's why we've decided to launch a weekly comment contest with a cash prize of $25.*
So how does it work? Simply comment on our blog posts, and check the box to enter your comment into the weekly contest. You'll need to enter your real name and a valid email address so that we can contact you if you win. There's no limit to how often you can comment, so comment on one blog post or 20, one week or every week.
How will comments be judged? Well, each week we'll simply pick the comment we like best. Sound vague? You betcha. We'll be looking for a variety of things in comments including (but not nearly limited to): thoughtfulness, wit, insight and understanding of the topic. Feel free to challenge us, critique, praise or just plain discuss.

I think this is a great
I think this is a great idea.
However, I think it would be even more wonderful if you granted the winner the option to donate their money to, for example, a farmer in Myanmar or to a child in Darfur. In the states $25 is valued but not nearly as much as it is to folks in poorer countries. Quite often, we do not need that money nearly as badly as the aforesaid do.

Is Poverty Linked to Terrorism?
maybe,but its not necessarily to be pour to be a terrorist too.
i think terrorism is linked mostly to extreme religious beliefs!
also..extremism is linked with lack of education which can be caused by poverty,but not all poor people are extremists and terrorists.its an easy silogisme.

I totally agree the the donation part, yes $25 dollars is nice, any free money is nice but the money would be more useful if used in one of those poverty stricken areas.
Because if I won, I would probably donate it, so it would be nice if we could save the hassle have the money go straight to the charity or organization.
Need of a student needs results yielding
$ 25, what's in $ 25 will be said by the richests.Only thing is that more prize money gives more comments as a prize winning note.But yes, they may be helpful for the student like me who is trying to get some money to not risk their parents for all causes in life.

as a matter of fact what i think is we people can't get the feeling or the need of those peoples who are suffering from such kind of situation because we were never faced to such kind of problem .what is 25$ notthing to us a lot to them bcoz they get a three time food from that money.

basically the excitement brought by internet was not entirely composed of what one can gain in terms of business profits but i think the empowering of the voiceless and those whose opinions where regarded as just full of ''sound and fury'' also framed the cybercraze that exists now so in conclusion i suppose giving a stage for comment is great and get paid for it awesome! great idea folks!
Life is not just money
If you think money is everything, it wasn't but made, more than the greed for money is the desire to share views and ideas, money is just the way to attract, well its just because its the need of the world, simply commenting won't fill the stomach of the family who hasn't eaten anything for weeks due to others, its not just me but entire lot of people who were like me affected by the cruelty of terrorism in the Mumbai attack.

As far as i concurced the biggest problem tendsd to be the problem with the way of thinking. So we are the fact of the global problem, so we spend our money. In conclusion i think that just we can resolve this problem, with changing of mind.

$25 is not a tempting prize, but I think that it's a good chance for us to improve our language, our vocabulary...because nowadays the children are more interested in playing games,watching tv, or simply relaxing. We forgot about the beauty of reading -- yes, reading anything, because you can learn something from whatever you learn. I'm really excited about this contest. I'll try to improve my English and to be a real critic, no matter if you'd like it or not.

my conclusion is don't be happy always(means even in sad moments) because the tears are valuable and also don't be sorrow always because as the tears are valuable don't waste them................!!

I have never been in a situation where having money made it worse. I'd say it's been my biggest problem all my life.. It’s money. It takes a lot of money to make these dreams come true. And comments are very important; being blogger I know it pretty well.

Hunger
Guyz I am anew member in Global Poverty Corp and i have read people ideas which are great. On beating hanger. i have seen people dieing in kenya as a result of hunger. this made me believe that if these people had a source of water, many lives will change coz water is life, source of food. With water one can do anything including drinking, irrigation, feeding animals etc. How can we help my community in kenya?

There is nothing good or bad in situations. Its the good or evil of our own minds. We are fighting for power, for money, for very petty things in life. We tend to get upset often and forget to realise the power of now, That this moment is never going to come again. Lets really by changing our own attitude in life make this world a better place!!!

Poverty is part of human life from the beginning of its presence on the ground.
There are treatments advantage.
I mean, there are temporary factors that create poverty can be addressed here.
There are circumstances, no one can help.
For example, Africa and the difficult climatic conditions here, the desert can never address the fundamental poverty ..... And so on.

Why have people been advising Indians to not watch the movie SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE by Danny Boyle? It is because they have made a total mockery of the Indian slums. The movie is such a hit just because of the fact that the developed nations have been exposed to poverty of such a ghastly type in the movie slumdog..... and are very happy to mock it ...
I wish the rich learn to recognize the fact that no one is poor by choice. Its not the amount of money with which a man is born matters, but the amount of money that he could make during his lifetime using his skills and capabilities.
so lets not mock the slums and the residing people.

This site is a fantastic
This site is a fantastic idea. It allows people to freely express their ideas, to boost an individuals self-esteem/self-respect.
To also interact with people and have discussions about topics which may not have been accessable or approachable any where but online, this boosts one's social morale and overall makes one's self feel a whole lot better about supporting (both unintentionally and intentionally) global warming and the prime ministers sometime's erraticly peculiur view and actions on matters.
Also, this site also gives an individual an opportunity to learn, with the pages swelling with facts and opinions which are both helpful and challenging to understand. These facts and opinions can sometimes be used for assignments and assessments, therefore providing a solid base for students of both university and school.
Overall, this site provides us with a multi-faceted world of colour and opion which opens the world up to individuals with its array of information. Basically, it is a wonderful source of income, social life and information for the average minded, incomed and just normal civilian.

25.00 goes along way for a granny like me..I shop at the Hospice store for clothes and household linens, yard sales for furniture, 25.00 would buy me a suit for church a pair of shoes, a couple of nice plates to bake cakes on for cakes sales, perhaps a cloth tablecloth for my table, some candles in case of storms, a stuffed toy for my dog, a shirt for my husband, and a CD of rock and roll music to listen to on the way home!!
And I would still have money enough to eat off the dollar menu at Micky D's
