Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is Global Envision?

Global Envision is a blog that examines how creating responsible market opportunities can lead to new solutions to global poverty. We work hard to offer timely content, analysis and discussion of the relationship between global markets and poverty alleviation.

Q: Are you development experts?

The simple answer is that sometimes we are, and sometimes we aren’t. Global Envision relies on a team of college interns who are interested, educated and passionate about international issues. But Global Envision contributors also include a wide array of professors, Mercy Corps program staff and individuals with different levels of expertise from around the world. For more contributor information, see our contributor page.

Q: What is Global Envision’s comment policy?

Global Envision has a very open comment policy, but we do moderate all comments. We will never censor comments based on grammar, ideological leanings or your viewpoint. However because we are a place for people to share and discuss ideas surrounding global markets and poverty alleviation, we like to think that if you would feel comfortable stating your comments in a room full of people discussing the topic, we will most likely publish it. Global Envision does reserve the right to take down any comments at any time.

We will not publish comments that are the following:
- spam
- abusive, offensive, off topic, or use foul language
- attack or target a group of people or person — including racist, homophobic and sexist slurs
- advertisements

Q: How do I make a comment?

Because we value your voice, we’ve tried to make the commenting process as easy as possible. Just click the "add a new comment" feature on the bottom of each blog post. Your e-mail address and name are required to comment, but we will never publish your email address. If for any reason you have trouble making a comment, contact us at contact(at)globalenvision.org.

Q: Why is my comment not appearing on the site?

Because we do moderate all comments, there may be some delay in getting your comment posted to the site. However, we will work our hardest to ensure that your thoughts and opinions are posted in a timely fashion. If this is not the reason you are not seeing your comment on the site, it means you have violated our comment guidelines, listed above.

Q: What does “unverified” next to a commenter’s’ name mean?

This just means you are not a registered contributor with Global Envision. However, you may still comment on all blog posts. Please email us at contact(at)globalenvision.org if you would like to become a regular contributor to our site.

Q: How do I secure an internship with Global Envision?

Global Envision is seeking candidates for our excellent writing internship and social networking internship. Interns selected for the contributor internship have the opportunity to be published on a daily basis, get experience in writing blog posts and mini-editorials, and get feedback from and have access to experienced writers and journalists. The social networking intern works with staff to creatively use social media to grow the Global Envision community. Check out our available internships here and follow the instructions outlined in the descriptions to apply. We’ll get back to you and let you know if your interests and abilities are a good fit for our current needs.
