When you boil charity down, it’s really a wealth transfer mechanism. It’s good for what it’s good for, but it’s not creating wealth, it’s not creating prosperity. It’s keeping people from tragedy or disaster, which is its proper role.

What lifts people out of poverty are jobs, and not just any jobs, but jobs that they can be proud of. What creates jobs are businesses, and what businesses need to expand is investment.
